BASE model · Step A

Business case

Only implement what pays off.

The hypotheses become concrete use cases. For each one, we show how it affects revenue, margin or costs, what it costs and how we measure success. Then you decide what gets implemented.

What this is about

Most AI projects do not fail because of the technology. They fail because nobody defined what they should achieve. The result is pilots without a goal that nobody uses after three months.

Duration
a few days to two weeks
Your effort
A few meetings with management and the business units involved. Plus access to the metrics you already track.
Result
Prioritized use cases with a business case, baseline values and target values

What we do

What happens in this step.

  1. Value drivers, not technology

We look at the levers of your business: where do revenue, margin and costs come from, and what are the cost drivers? That is where we start.

  2. Understanding processes with your team

We review the workflows with the employees who do them every day. This makes the use case concrete.

  3. Business case in euros

For each use case: expected impact, effort for implementation and operation, risks and payback period. Every calculation is easy to follow.

  4. Baseline values and target values

One financial metric at the top, operational metrics below it, such as processing time or error rate. We record the baseline values before anything changes and flag quick wins separately.

  5. Solution design and data protection

Which solution fits: a workflow, an agent, a knowledge layer or better use of a tool you already have? We clarify data flows and GDPR before we write any code.

  6. Implementation plan

Order, timeframe and contacts. You know what happens when.

What you get

  • A prioritized list of your use cases
  • A business case for each use case
  • Baseline values and target values for later measurement
  • A solution design with data protection clarified, plus an implementation plan

Examples of use cases

  • Prepare proposals from CRM data and past proposals
  • Extract and check incoming invoices and prepare them for booking
  • Pre-sort customer inquiries and prepare replies for approval
  • Compile reports from multiple systems automatically

FAQ

Questions about this step.

How many use cases should we define?

That is your decision. Anything from one to ten is possible. It often makes sense to start with the strongest use case.

What if a use case does not pay off?

Then we tell you and advise against it. We do not implement something just because it is technically possible.
