In short

This website does not set cookies and does not load content from other providers. We process the data that is technically required to run the website, the information you send us yourself, and shortened usage data from our own audience measurement with Matomo. Everything runs on a server in Germany.

Controller

Lyncbase GbR, Magnus Hoppe and Lukas Munker, Lenhartzstr. 31, 20249 Hamburg, Germany. Phone: +49 40 30711749, email: contact@lyncbase.com.

Hosting and server log files

The website, mail server and audience measurement are operated for us by Blacklynx, Inhaber Lukas Munker, Lenhartzstr. 31, 20249 Hamburg, Germany, as a processor pursuant to Art. 28 GDPR. Lukas Munker is also a partner of Lyncbase GbR. The server is located in a data center of Hetzner Online GmbH, Industriestr. 25, 91710 Gunzenhausen, Germany. Hetzner is engaged as a sub-processor and has no access to the content of the server.

When you open a page, the server automatically stores: IP address, date and time, requested address, referrer, browser and operating system, and the status code. This is required to deliver the website, find errors and fend off attacks. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in secure operation (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). Log files are deleted automatically after 14 days. IP addresses that stand out through attack attempts are temporarily blocked by the server and briefly stored for that purpose.

Contact by email or phone

When you write to us or call us, we process your information (for example name, company, email address, phone number and your request) to answer it. The legal basis is the initiation or performance of a contract (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR), otherwise our legitimate interest in answering your request (point f).

Messages to contact@lyncbase.com are delivered to the mailboxes of our two partners, Magnus Hoppe and Lukas Munker, on the server named above. We delete your information once your request has been handled, unless statutory retention obligations apply, for example six years for business letters and eight years for accounting records (§ 147 AO, German Fiscal Code).

Inquiry form

When you submit the inquiry form, your browser sends your details to our server in encrypted form. Required are your name, email address and, for the AI Readiness Check, the name of your company; everything else is optional. The server checks the input and sends it as an email to the two mailboxes named above, together with the page you sent the form from and the language of the website. We do not use a database for this. The legal basis is the initiation of a contract (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR), otherwise our legitimate interest in answering your request (point f).

To prevent abuse, we limit the number of requests per IP address. For this we do not store the IP address itself but a cryptographic check value created with a key that is regenerated daily, and we usually delete it after two hours. The section on contacting us applies to storing and deleting the emails.

Job applications

If you apply to us via the form or by email, we process your details and documents to decide on your application (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR). If we do not end up working together, we delete them no later than six months after the process has ended, unless you consent to longer storage.

Audience measurement with Matomo

To understand how our website is used and to improve it, we use the open-source software Matomo. Matomo runs on the same server in Germany (stats.blacklynx.de); the data is not passed on to any other recipients.

We record pages viewed, time on page, scroll depth, which sections of a page were visible and clicked, clicks on buttons and links, expanded questions and the steps in the inquiry form (without your input), as well as browser, operating system, device type, language and referring page. Your IP address is shortened by two bytes before it is stored. To group the page views of one visit, Matomo creates an identifier from this information that is only valid for one day. We cannot directly identify you with it, and we do not combine the data with other data.

The legal basis is our legitimate interest in improving our website (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). We delete raw data after 180 days; only aggregated statistics remain.

You are not recorded if your browser sends “Do Not Track” or “Global Privacy Control”. You can also object to the measurement at any time here:

Your visit is currently being measured.

Cookies, browser storage and fonts

We do not set cookies. Even for audience measurement we do not store anything in your browser and do not query device characteristics such as screen size or installed plugins. We only evaluate information your browser transmits anyway when it requests a page. In our assessment, consent under § 25 TDDDG (German Telecommunications Digital Services Data Protection Act) is therefore not required.

Only if you object to the measurement do we place a marker in your browser’s storage (localStorage) so that your objection is respected on your next visit. This is strictly necessary for the purpose you requested (§ 25(2) no. 2 TDDDG). If you clear the site data in your browser, the marker is removed as well.

We serve fonts from our own server; there is no connection to Google or other providers.

Recipients and third countries

Apart from us, your data is only received by Blacklynx as the operator of the server and Hetzner as its data center, both as processors. Data is not transferred to countries outside the EU.

Your rights

You have the right of access (Art. 15 GDPR), rectification (Art. 16), erasure (Art. 17), restriction of processing (Art. 18) and data portability (Art. 20). You can withdraw consent at any time with effect for the future.

Right to object: if we process data based on our legitimate interest, you can object at any time on grounds relating to your particular situation (Art. 21 GDPR).

You can lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority, for example the Hamburg Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information, Ludwig-Erhard-Str. 22, 20459 Hamburg, which is responsible for us.

For any questions about data protection, contact us at contact@lyncbase.com.

Other information

You are not obliged to provide us with data. We do not use automated decision-making, including profiling.
